One of numerous sitcoms with fantastical premises from the 1960s, this charming series starred Sally Field as Sister Bertrille, a former surfer-girl
turned nun. Upon arrival at her new home at the convent San Tanco in San Juan, Puerto Rico, she makes the curious discovery that her small
frame paired with her large headgear causes her to take flight! She uses her powers to provide help--wanted or otherwise--to those in need, and is
aided by her playboy bachelor friend Carlos (Alejandro Rey). Sister Bertrille also befriends her fellow nuns: Sister Jacqueline (Marge Redmond), who becomes her mentor; Sister Sixto (Shelley Morrison), a Puerto Rican nun struggling to
learn English; and the young Sister Ana (Linda Dangcil). They are often opposed by the staid Mother Superior Plaseato (Madeleine Sherwood).
