The Jeffersons DVD The Fourth Season
THE JEFFERSONS was a popular and groundbreaking sitcom from the mid-1970s, which broke with social convention and racial stereotypes while delivering a high standard of entertainment. Based around George Jefferson (Sherman Helmsley), an ill-tempered dry-cleaning mogul, and his family, the show followed the Jeffersons' move from the ghetto to a highrise, and the subsequent adjustments that must be made. In the fifth season, matriarch Louise (Isabel Sanford) takes an art class and begins sketching nude models, much to George's dismay. George cons Billy Dee Williams into speaking
at a benefit he's hosting, and the Jeffersons deal with the threat of a company buyout, a visit from Louise's sister, and George's disco fever.
The Jeffersons DVD The Fourth Season
The Jeffersons are "movin' on up" into the fourth season, which saw short-tempered dry-cleaning businessman George (Sherman Hemsley), and his sassy wife Louise "Wheezy" Jefferson (Isabel Sanford) continuing to adjust to life in their fancy new high-rise. The maid, Florence Johnston, has moved in to provide full-time service--and twice the laughs--while next-door neighbors Tom and Helen Willis, who were quite possibly TV's first interracial couple, add to the fun. In season four, Louise is kidnapped and held for ransom, George pursues some questionable methods of improving his business, and Harry spills his ant farm in the living room right before
a visit from the landlord. The series, a spin-off of ALL IN THE FAMILY, maintained its popularity until its abrupt cancellation after 11 years.

and George takes up flying. Episodes include "The Retirement Party," "Bentley's Problem," "The Marriage Counselors," and "The Old Flame."
